What is SCEMI?
​Siloam Christian Education Ministries International (SCEMI)

is an interdenominational discipleship training program designed to strengthen local churches and other Christian groups by uniting and equipping local Christians through a solid knowledge of the basics of the Christian faith.

Eight Month Intensive Discipleship Program

SCEMI does this by providing an eight month program of weekly interactive two-hour Bible Study classes that provide a valuable basic understanding of the Word of God. These classes help to strengthen local churches by encouraging Christians young and old to accomplish Christ’s Great Commission in their local communities and around the world.

Languages of Instruction

Languages of Instruction: English, French, Spanish, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi and others.

What We Believe
  • THE HOLY SCRIPTURES as originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy; and the only supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
  • ONE GOD, eternally existent in three Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. God manifested in the flesh, His virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His substitutionary atonement on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His mediatorial work, and His personal return in power and glory.
  • THE SALVATION of lost and sinful people through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ by faith apart from works, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
  • THE HOLY SPIRIT by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life to witness for the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • THE UNITY in the Spirit of all true believers, the Body of Christ and manifest in the local church as the tangible expression of the Body of Christ, an organized body of believers in Christ who are voluntarily joined together for public worship and evangelism, teaching the Word, fellowship with the saints, observance of the ordinances, exercise in prayer, and who are commissioned with the responsibility to administer discipline.

  • RESURRECTION of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

 

LEADERSHIP

Pastor Bonaventure Ntawutarama, a Credentialed Minister with the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada, is the Executive Director and Founder of Siloam Christian Education Ministries International (SCEMI). 
Pastor Bonanventure was born in Bujumbura, Burundi September 4, 1970. He was born again on September 3, 1989. Since that day Pastor Bonaventure’s hunger for God and to study the Word of God was more eminent. Back in Burundi, he joined Scripture Union.

Pastor Bonaventure immigrated to Quebec City, Canada in 1992 where he completed both high school and college. While in Quebec City and Moncton city, Pastor Bonaventure served God with the support of Pastor Albert Harper, and Pastor Brian Hagerman. It was also in Quebec City that Pastor Bonaventure become involved with Navigators of Canada.

After completing college, Pastor Bonaventure moved to New Brunswick and pursued his undergraduate degree in industrial Technology. He graduated in 2000. In the same year Pastor Bonaventure moved from New Brunswick to Toronto and joined Abasaruzi Missionary Church where he served in different departments of the church until became a pastor in 2004.
Pastor Wilfred Rusibira was aware of the need to strengthen discipleship at Abasaruzi church. Aware of Pastor Bonaventure’s teaching gifts, Pastor Wilfred appointed Pastor Bonaventure to the task of leading the church in Bible Study. To equip himself more in the Word of God and in church planting and leadership, Pastor Bonaventure trained with Keystone Project in South Dakota, USA. 

This training increased even further his desire to serve God and help people to become disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ through the Word of God.

Pastor Bonaventure has taught and graduated 600 students all across Canada, USA, Europe, and from Africa he has taught students from Burundi, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Sudan and DRC.

Pastor Bonaventure is currently serving as an associate Pastor and as a Bible teacher in Abasaruzi Missionary Church in Toronto. He also has a secular job. 
SCEMI opened officially on September 4, 2010 in Toronto, Canada.

Curriculum Design for Discipleship Series Overview
  1. YOUR LIFE IN CHRIST In this book you will discover just how God cares for you. You will also learn about the person and the work of Jesus Christ during His time in the earth, and you will see how the Holy Spirit operates within you.
  2. THE SPIRIT-FILLED FOLLOWER OF JESUS
    In this book you will understand better how to be an obedient follower of Jesus Christ, as well as the importance of the Word of God in a believers’ life. You will learn also why as a Christian it is truly important to converse, or talk, with God and why being in fellowship with other Christians is so vital. This class also looks at witnessing for Christ, or sharing faith, in your daily life.
  3. WALKING WITH CHRIST
    How can a believer grow to maturity in Christ? This class looks at the Lordship of Christ and the promises of God. As well we discuss how we can grow in our faith and learn how to know the will of God and the way to walk as a servant.
  4. CHARACTER OF A FOLLOWER OF JESUS
    In this series you will learn the call to fruitful living and authentic love in action. As Christians we need a life of purity and integrity. You will discover also how suffering plays a part in the development of Christian character.
  5. FOUNDATIONS FOR FAITH
    In our daily life we need to understand who God is and we need to appreciate the authority of His Word and the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives. This class also looks at Spiritual warfare and the Second Coming of Christ.
  6. 6. GROWING IN DISCIPLESHIP
    In this class you will understand better the meaning of discipleship, being established in Christ, and being a responsible steward of all that God has given you. You will also learn to develop a global vision as you learn about the Kingdom of God.
  7. OUR HOPE IN CHRIST
    As Christians we need to put our hope in Christ before anything else. In this class you will learn a chapter Analysis Study of I Thessalonians.
